Teen Girls are faced with more challenges today than ever before: sex-ploitation, pregnancy, bullying, crime, drugs, illiteracy, high school drop out rates, poverty, physical, emotional and sexual abuse...the list goes on! However, there's something both you and I can do!
We intend to nurture the lives of tomorrow's female leaders. We believe the success of all teens, relies within the adults, relatives, friends, teachers, and community leaders in their lives. Stiletto Girlz! is about the empowerment of teen girls, but equally about your involvement...and finding practical ways to help at least one girl become a productive woman, mother, and change agent for the future!
Why Focus On Girls?
We concentrate on the female populace because girls will bear the children of our future. Girls are at the highest risk for contracting HIV and committing suicide, and that doesn't have to be!
If we can reach one girl and increase her knowledge and self-esteem, she may make better choices, and in turn have an independent voice.
Does This Mean Boys Are Bad?
Certainly not! By empowering girls, we believe we are also educating and transforming the lives of boys! When girls have fun, are secure and smart, they set a positive example for all those they encounter.
Through this movement, we want to open the dialog with boys as well, and use this opportunity as a means of collaboration to help all youth become more productive
